Let's Go to the Farm!

To the Farm

Horses, donkeys, cows that moo,
Chickens, kittens, piglets, too.
Fish that swim down in the pond,
Ducklings quacking all day long.
All these animals you can see,
If you go to the farm with me!

Activities:

1. Make butter! - use heavy cream. Put in a jar and shake for 5 minutes (kids take turns) or until it turns into butter.

2. Have a "Farm Country Breakfast". Make scrambled eggs ( I use both white and brown eggs), bacon, and homemade bread and butter.

3. Have each kid make a farm animal puppet. They can do a report on that animal.

4. Make a graph of their favorite farm animals.

5. Discuss why farm animals are important and match up what each farm animal gives us.

6. Match up baby and adult farm animals.  Discuss terms for male and female farm animals.
