- Stimulating professional improvement by working with the Deputy Superintendent for Instruction and Student Learning and the Professional Development Committee on a well-planned in-service training program for the faculty.

The Salt Point Center School Principal will oversee the regular functions of the building by:
- Implementing the policies of the Board of Trustees and the directives of the District Superintendent of Schools.
- Reporting to the District Superintendent the needs of the school with respect to equipment, supplies.
- Administering the budget appropriation allocated to the school.
- Supervising the maintenance, cleanliness and security of the building and its contents.
- Establishing and implementing student health and safety procedures.
- Monitoring student attendance.
- Maintaining the pupil records system.

The Salt Point Center School Principal will promote the social, emotional, and educational growth of the students by:
- Working with the Executive Director of Human Resources to recruit and hire quality faculty and staff.
- Working with the Director of Special Education to establish and implement programs appropriate to students with special needs.
- Exerting leadership in the adaptation of the program of education approved for the schools to meet the particular needs of the Dutchess BOCES community served.
- Participating in the yearly determination of educational materials-reviewing, evaluating and recommending preferred and optional materials,
- Reporting to the Deputy Superintendent the needs of the school with respect to curriculum.
- Furnishing the necessary supplies and instructional materials to staff for the improvement of instruction.
- Encouraging development of student body spirit through rewards, privileges, and recognition.
- Providing for individual differences and placing each student in an atmosphere which will stimulate learning and progress.
- Being available at all times to consult with parents and teachers concerning the welfare of any student.
- Promoting his/her professional growth through reading, attending conferences and workshops in order to provide professional leadership of the highest quality.
- Coordinating the Dutchess BOCES Extended School Year summer programs.

The Salt Point Center School Principal will be a liaison between the Salt Point Center School and District Office by:
- Submitting written reports upon request to the District and Deputy Superintendent.
- Participating as an active and contributing member of the Cabinet Advisory Committee, and the Building Liaison Team.
- Chairing, facilitating or serving as a member of district-wide committees when requested.
- Serving as school district representative to regional committees when requested
- The Salt Point Center School Principal will assume other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned by the District Superintendent of Schools.

Evaluation:
At a minimum, the Salt Point Center School Principal will be evaluated on an annual basis by the District Superintendent of Schools.

You are therefore encouraged to apply for specific vacancies above at your earliest convenience, because once a District closes a vacancy [even if it's earlier than the originally noted Deadline], you will no longer be able to apply for it online.

The Districts are notified immediately & automatically when you apply for vacancies noted above. You need only apply once per posting. There is no advantage to applying multiple times for the same vacancy.
