*A
Circle of Friends
We've
joined together as classmates
as the
new year begins...
A year
full of learning
while
we become friends.
We'll
share and be kind
as we
work and play.
And
our friendship will grow
With
each passing day.
Welcome
to Our Classroom
(Sung
to: Sing a Song of Sixpence)
Welcome
to our classroom,
Come
and sit right down.
We are
all together,
Take
a look around.
Here
inside our classroom
There's
lots to see and do.
I am
happy being here
And
making friends with you!
(from
Songs for Teachers)
September
is a time
Of beginning
for all,
Beginning
of school
Beginning
of fall.
September
means its time again
for
going off to school.
The
days are getting shorter
and
the nights are getting cool.
Apples
(Tune:
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
Apples
juicy, apples round,
on the
tree or on the ground.
Apples
yellow, apples red,
apple
pie and juice and bread!
Apples
crunchy, apples sweet,
apples
are so good to eat!
I
Can Read Colors
Orange
is an orange
Yellow
is the sun.
Brown
is the bear and
Purple
is the plum.
Red
is an apple.
Green
is a tree.
Black
is a man’s hat.
I can
read!
Listen
to me.
Way
Up High in the Apple Tree
Way up
high in the apple tree
Two
little apples smiled at me.
I shook
that tree as hard as I could.
Down
came the apples.
Mmmm,
were they good.
October
Poems
October's
the month
When
the smallest breeze
Gives
us a shower
Of autumn
leaves.
Bonfires
and pumpkins,
Leaves
sailing down -
October
is red
And
golden and brown.
October
leaves are lovely
They
rustle when I run
Sometimes
I make a heap
And
jump in them for fun.
Autumn
leaves float quietly down
And
form a carpet on the ground.
But
when those leaves are stepped upon,
Listen
for the crackling sound.
Candy
corn, candy corn,
Sweet
to eat.
Candy
corn, candy corn,
A Halloween
treat!
Fall
From
September to December,
What’s
the season?
Fall!
Red
leaves start to
Fall!
Brown
leaves start to
Fall!
Gold
leaves start to
Fall!
Orange
leaves start to
Fall!
Yellow
leaves start to
Fall!
After
all, it’s
Fall!
Fire
Safety Song
(Sung
to: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)
Listen
now, this is no joke,
Before
a fire, there’s always smoke,
If you
smell it, go outside,
Never
find a place to hide,
Stay
down low and crawl away,
Fire
trucks are on the way.

Autumn
Bird Song
Over
the housetops,
Over
the trees,
Winging
their way
In a
stiff fall breeze.
A flock
of birds
Are
flying along.
Southward,
for winter,
Singing
a song.
Singing
a song
They
all like to sing,
"We'll
see you again
When
it's spring, spring, spring."
Pumpkin,
pumpkin
Big
and round.
Pumpkin,
pumpkin
On the
ground.
With
my finger
I will
trace,
A smile
upon
Your
orange face.

Thanksgiving
The year
has turned its circle,
The
seasons come and go.
The
harvest all is gathered in
And
chilly north winds blow.
Orchards
have shared their treasures,
The
fields, their yellow grain,
So open
wide the doorway ...
Thanksgiving
comes again!
~ Author

Let's
be thankful for this day
For
our friends and for our play
Let's
give thanks for you and me
And
our home and family.

(tune:
All Around the Mulberry Bush)
A turkey
is a funny bird,
His
head goes wobble, wobble.
And
all he says is just one word,
"Gobble,
gobble, gobble."
"The
First Thanksgiving"
tune:
Oh Susannah
Oh they
left their homes in England
And
prepared to take a trip.
They
climbed aboard the Mayflower
And
sailed upon a ship.
The year
was 1620 -
On a
cold November day
By the
shores of Massachusetts
They
arrived in Plymouth Bay.
(chorus):
Oh the
Pilgrims!
Seeking
to be free!
They
came here to America
For
opportunity!
The first
year was the hardest
But
their neighbors helped them out.
They
met Native Americans
With
Squanto as their scout.
They
helped the Pilgrims plant the crops
Of pumpkins,
beans, and corn.
They
shared a feast and that is how
Thanksgiving
Day was born.
Thanksgiving
T is

December
Poems
December
Celebrations
Every
year at just this time,
In cold
and dark December,
Families
around the world
All
gather to remember.
With
presents and with parties,
With
feasting and with fun,
Customs
and traditions
For
people old and young.
So every
year around the world
In all
lands and nations,
People
of all ages love
December
celebrations!

*December
It's
hard to think of anything,
But
Christmas in December.
There's
so much to look forward to,
And
so much to remember.

January
Poems
January
January
now is here,
A fresh
new start for a whole new year.
The
snow comes down in the dark of night.
When
we awake the world is white.
In January
when there's snow,
We get
our sleds and away we go!
January,
January
Now
is here.
A fine
new start
For
a whole new year.
The
snow comes down
In the
dark of night.
When
we awake
The
world is white.
In January
When
there's snow,
We get
our sleds
And
away we go.
January
January
opens
The
box of the year
And
brings out days
That
are bright and clear.
And
brings out days
That
are cold and gray,
And
shouts, "Come see
What
I brought today!"

January
Little
January
Tapped
at my door today.
And
said, "Put on your winter wraps,
And
come outdoors to play."
Little
January
Is always
full of fun;
Today
we coasted down the hill,
Until
the set of sun.
Little
January
Will
stay a month with me
And
we will have such jolly times-
Just
come along and see.

January
January
sparkles.
January's
bold.
January
huffs and puffs.
January's
cold.
Winter
Winds
The warm
south wind is taking a nap.
Zip
up your coat and put on your hat.
So Mr.
North Wind won't nip at your toes,
Put
on warm boots and warm winter clothes.
Put
on your gloves to protect your fingers.
Now
Mr. North Wind's cold won't linger.
Five
Little Inuit
Five
little Inuit fishing in the ice,
The
first one said, "I'm glad we're being nice."
The
second one said, "There's a polar bear over there."
The
third one said, "I don't care."
The
fourth one said, "I'm going to my igloo."
The
fifth one said, "I think I'm going with you."
Then
w-o-o-h went the wind, and out went the light,
And
the five little Inuit skated out of sight.
January
Starts the Year
by
Risa Jordan
January,
February, March, April, May,
The
first five months are A-OK.
June
and July, August, September,
How
many summers can you remember?
October,
November, December’s the end,
Any
month’s a good time to make a new friend.
Fifty-two
weeks or twelve months in a year,
As each
month ends, a new one is here.
Summer,
fall, winter, and spring.
These
are the seasons that each year brings.
The days
in a year come to three hundred sixty-five.
Isn’t
it great to be alive?
I'm
a Little Snowman
(tune:
I'm
a Little Teapot) by Cherry Carl
I'm a
little snowman
Round
and fat.
I wear
a scarf
And
a puffy hat.
When
the weather's cold
I'm
happy as can be.
But
when it's warm,
That's
the last of me!

Valentine
There's
nothing like a valentine,
To make
a smile appear,
A heart-shaped
card filled with kind words,
Sent
from someone who's dear.
A friend
or even a relative,
Who
takes the time to say,
I like
you just because you're you.
That's
what is done this day.

Make
New Friends
Make
new friends
But
keep the old
One
is silver
And
the other's gold
A
circle is round,
It has
no end
That's
how long
I want
to be your friend.
The
Groundhog
The funny
little groundhog
Digs
a home in the fall,
And
hides there all winter
Rolled
up in a ball.
On February
2nd
He comes
out of there
To look
at the sky
And
to sniff the air.
Here's
a Little Groundhog
(Tune:
I'm a Little Teapot)
Here's
a little groundhog, furry and brown,
He's
popping up to look around.
If he
sees his shadow, down he'll go.
Then
six more weeks of winter - Oh No!!
